UN Security Adviser in Bangladesh meets IGP

Security Adviser to the United Nations in Bangladesh Tess B Bresnan on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir.

During the meeting held at Police Headquarters in the capital, Tess B Bresnan expressed satisfaction with the professionalism and cooperation of the Bangladesh Police in ensuring the safety and security of officials and staff working across various UN agencies and affiliated organizations in Bangladesh.

The UN Security Adviser also highly praised the role of the Bangladesh Police in maintaining law and order and ensuring security during the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

The IGP assured that the police force has been giving the highest priority to ensuring the security of personnel belonging to the United Nations and other foreign organizations operating in Bangladesh.

He also discussed the ongoing operations of the Bangladesh Police in the Rohingya camps, as well as various community policing initiatives aimed at strengthening public safety and community engagement across the country.

Senior officials of the Bangladesh Police were present at the meeting.
