Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday sent a congratulatory message to US President Donald J. Trump on the occasion of the United States’ 250th Independence Day.

The Prime Minister extended warm greetings on behalf of the people of Bangladesh, expressing confidence in President Trump's leadership and wishing continued peace, prosperity, and happiness for the American people.

“As the United States is celebrating this glorious occasion across the nation, America 250 is also serving people around the world to draw inspiration from American dream, sacrifice, freedom, values, tradition, ethos, and America's contribution to the rest of the world,” Tarique said in the letter.

The message highlighted the long-standing Bangladesh-US partnership, describing the United States as a valued friend since Bangladesh's independence.

He described the ongoing year as “a new chapter in US-Bangladesh relationship with substantial progress in the areas of trade, energy, cooperation and investment”, while also acknowledged continued US support in addressing the Rohingya crisis.

Tarique reaffirmed his government's commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and conveyed his best wishes for President Trump.
