New DIGs appointed in 3 ranges, including Dhaka

Three new deputy inspectors general (DIGs) have been appointed to the Dhaka, Rajshahi and Khulna ranges. 

At the same time, a new commissioner has been appointed to the Barishal Metropolitan Police. 

The information was disclosed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday. 

According to the notification, DIG of the Special Branch (SB) of Police Md Iqbal Hossain has been appointed DIG of the Dhaka Range; Barishal Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Ashiq Saeed has been appointed DIG of the Rajshahi Range; and Barishal Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman has been appointed DIG of the Khulna Range.

Police Headquarters DIG Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh has been appointed Commissioner of the Barishal Metropolitan Police. 

Meanwhile, Khulna Range DIG Md Rezaul Haque has been appointed DIG of the Industrial Police; and Rajshahi Range DIG Mohammad Shahjahan has been posted to the Armed Police Battalion (APBn).
