Fatema Tuz Zohra, the mother of July uprising martyr Abdullah Bin Jahid, met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday along with her cancer-stricken son, Mahmudullah Bin Jisan.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister's office at the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat, where Tarique assured Zohra of a job, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister's Press Wing.

Member Secretary of "Amra BNP Poribar", Krishibid Mokhsedul Momin Mithun, was also present.

Abdullah Bin Jahid was shot dead on the night of 5 August 2024 during the July uprising.

Two weeks later, the family learned that Jahid's younger brother, Mahmudullah Bin Jisan, had been diagnosed with cancer. Seven months later, the family also lost the children's father.

The successive tragedies left the family in severe financial hardship, particularly as the cost of Jisan's cancer treatment continued to rise.

According to the Press Wing, Tarique Rahman had extended support to the family while serving as BNP Acting Chairman and arranged assistance for Jisan's treatment through Amra BNP Poribar.

Since then, the organisation has coordinated Jisan's treatment under the supervision of Atiqur Rahman, who is now the Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister.

The Press Wing said the Prime Minister has continued to monitor Jisan's treatment and ensure the family receives the necessary support for his medical care.
