PM makes surprise visit to Army summer exercise, observes field training

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday paid a surprise visit to the Bangladesh Army's summer exercise in Manikganj, where he observed field training and interacted with troops.

Tarique arrived at the exercise area of the 8 BIR under the 9th Infantry Division in Singair upazila at around 9:20am, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister's Press Wing.

During the visit, the Prime Minister walked across a large section of the training area to observe the ongoing exercise and engage with participating soldiers.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 9th Infantry Division and the unit's Commanding Officer (CO) briefed him on the exercise and the force's operational preparedness.

Tarique also listened to a commander's operational briefing and watched a raid exercise conducted by the participating troops as part of the field training.
