The Forest Department has rescued a Burmese python measuring approximately 10 feet in length and weighing around 15 kilograms from a residential house in the Classpara area of Haldiapalang Union in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.

The python was recovered at around 10:00 pm on Tuesday after forest officials from the Haldiapalang Beat under the Ukhiya Range conducted an operation based on information provided by local residents.

According to the Forest Department, the rescued python is in good health.

Local residents said they were alarmed after spotting the large snake near the house. They immediately informed the Forest Department, whose personnel quickly arrived at the scene and safely rescued the reptile.

Imdadul Rony, the officer of the Dochhari Forest Beat, urged the public not to disturb or harm wild animals that stray into human settlements. Instead, he said, people should promptly inform the Forest Department so that both human and animal safety can be ensured.

Assistant Conservator of Forests and Ukhiya Range Officer Shahinul Islam confirmed the incident. He said the rescued Burmese python will be released back into its natural habitat.
