Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has said China will continue to provide Bangladesh with the necessary assistance and support, ensuring that bilateral cooperation delivers tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
"China is willing to work hand in hand with Bangladesh to make this project another landmark of China-Bangladesh cooperation," he said while inspecting the China-funded Burn Unit at Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Monday.
The ambassador said China attaches great importance to the implementation of the project.
During the visit, Yao met Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain, MP Abu Sufian, and Chittagong Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General Mohammed Taslim.
He also offered what the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka described as "constructive suggestions" on the project's progress and held a meeting with the Chinese management and technical teams.
Dr Shahadat and other Bangladeshi officials thanked China for its continued support for Bangladesh's development and efforts to improve people's livelihoods. They also expressed hope for further progress through bilateral cooperation, the embassy said.
