86 deputy, 179 assistant attorneys general appointed

The government has appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General and 179 Assistant Attorneys General, cancelling all previous appointments to the posts.

Separate gazette notifications were issued on Thursday (July 30) by the Solicitor Wing of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

According to the notifications, the President, exercising the powers conferred under Article 3(1) of the Bangladesh Law Officers Order, 1972 (PO No 6 of 1972), has revoked the appointment orders of all previously appointed Deputy Attorneys General and Assistant Attorneys General and appointed 86 Deputy Attorneys General and 179 Assistant Attorneys General in their place.
