The government decided to keep retail prices of petroleum fuels unchanged for August, allowing consumers to continue purchasing diesel, kerosene, petrol and octane at the existing rates.

The decision was announced in a notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on Thursday. It said the current prices would remain effective throughout August with the approval of the competent authority.

Under the existing pricing structure, diesel will continue to sell at 115 taka per litre, kerosene at 135 taka per litre, petrol at 140 taka per litre, and octane at 145 taka per litre.

The current rates were fixed through a gazette notification issued by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division on 31 May 2026 and will remain in force for August without any revision.

The government reviews domestic fuel prices every month under its automatic pricing mechanism, taking into account movements in the international oil market and other relevant factors.
