Preparatory meeting on presidential election today

A preparatory meeting on the upcoming presidential election will be held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday, with Acting Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair, according to a press release issued by the Parliament Secretariat.

The meeting will discuss preparations for the presidential election, for which the Election Commission (EC) announced the schedule on August 6.

According to the schedule, candidates must submit their nomination papers by August 13. The nomination papers will be scrutinised on August 16, while candidates can withdraw their nominations until 4:00pm on August 18.

Voting will be held on August 20 from 2pm to 5pm in the Jatiya Sangsad session chamber.
