7 ASPs, 49 inspectors sent into mandatory retirement

The government has sent seven assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) and 49 inspectors into mandatory retirement from public service.

The decision was announced in two separate notifications issued by the Police-1 and Police-2 branches of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.

According to the notifications, signed by Senior Secretary of the ministry Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, the 56 officers serving in the Bangladesh Police had completed 25 years of service.

They were sent into retirement from government service in the public interest under Section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018.
