Dengue: Death toll hits 82 this year as 5 more die

Five people died of dengue and 839 new patients were hospitalsed across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Sunday.

With the latest fatalities, the dengue death toll has risen to 82 in the country this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The new deaths were reported in Dhaka division, Dhaka South City Corporation and and Mymensingh divisions, it said.

Currently, 1,951 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.

Since January 1 this year, a total of 28,929 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

Of them, 26,896 have been discharged during this period after recovery.
