Waadaa Desk

Bangladeshi actress Azmeri Haque Badhon came under attack by alleged Awami League activists in Italy’s Venice.

Videos of the attack showed a group of men surrounding Badhon, her brother and her brother’s child, throwing water and soda on the actress and physically assaulting her.

In videos also shared by supposed AL activists, they claimed the attack was on behalf of the “Italy unit” of the Awami League.

During the attack, they also called Badhon a “July terrorist”.

In a separate video addressing the incident, Badhon said she had gone to a park nearby the hotel she was staying at in Mestre when the attack took place.

She was surrounded by the men, who launched the attack.

They also used expletives and tried to force her to say “Joy Bangla”.

“I also felt they might even kill me today,” Badhon said.

Badhon is in Italy to attend the Venice Film Festival.

The attack has already gone viral on social media, with attackers also going live on social media to telecast the attack.
