President offers ziarat at two shrines in Sylhet

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Tuesday offered 'Ziarat' at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shahparan (RA) soon after arriving in Sylhet as part of his visit.

The President arrived at the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal(RA) around 12:30 pm and stayed there for some time, recited Tasbih and offered ziarat.

Later, he left for the shrine of Hazrat Shahparan (RA) with his motorcade.

After offering ziarat at the shrine, the President returned to Sylhet Circuit House.

Earlier, he arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 11:27 am. From the airport, the President went to Sylhet Circuit House and received a guard of honour.

Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury, local parliament members, political leaders and district administration officials welcomed the President upon his arrival at the airport.

In the afternoon, the President is scheduled to attend a civic reception organized by Sylhet City Corporation.

Security measures have been strengthened in Sylhet centering on the President's visit.

The President is scheduled to leave for Dhaka from Osmani International Airport tonight after completing his visit.
