Rajshahi July uprising case: ICT orders notices for 34 accused, including ex-mayor Liton

The International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) on Thursday ordered the publication of notices in two national dailies, asking 34 accused, including former Rajshahi City Corporation mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, to appear before it in a case filed over alleged crimes against humanity during the July 2024 Mass Uprising.

The tribunal ordered the notices to be published in one Bengali-language and one English-language newspaper and adjourned the hearing until October 27.

A total of 38 people have been accused in the case over alleged crimes against humanity committed in Rajshahi during the July 2024 Mass Uprising.

Of them, four, including former Rajshahi-3 lawmaker Asaduzzaman Asad, are currently in custody.

The tribunal ordered the publication of notices for the remaining 34 accused, asking them to appear before it to face trial.
