A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala on four-day remand in an attempted murder case linked to the July 2024 uprising.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque passed the order when Sub-Inspector Sumon Mia of Uttara West Police Station produced him before the court with a 10-day remand prayer in the case.

Earlier, the police officer filed a petition with the court seeking its order to show Dilip Agarwala arrested in the case filed for attempting to kill A Jabbar during the July uprising.

The court accepted the petition.

According to the case statement, Jabbar suffered bullet injuries when he took part in a demonstration in front of BNS Centre on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in Uattar on August 5, 2024.

The victim filed a case with Uttara West Police Station against 50 named individuals, including deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and 100-150 unidentified ones on March 27, 2025.

Earlier, on Tuesday, a Dhaka court placed Dilip Agarwala on one-day remand in a case filed over alleged laundering of Tk 678 crore.

Detectives arrested him from the Banani area of the capital on October 19 in the case filed by the Criminal Investigation Department of police on November 18 last year for allegedly for laundering around Tk 678 crore though smuggling gold and diamond.

Police earlier arrested Dilip Agarwala on September 3, 2024. On October 1, 2025, he was released on bail.
