The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has invited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend the 18th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) and the 8th edition of the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX 2027), scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi in January next year.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, extended the invitation to Tarique, the UAE Embassy in Dhaka said on Monday.
The two exhibitions will be held from January 25 to 29, 2027, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in the UAE capital.
Sheikh Hamdan said the prime minister’s presence would greatly enrich the occasion and contribute meaningfully to the success of the exhibitions. He also conveyed his highest consideration and profound appreciation to Tarique.
IDEX and NAVDEX are major international platforms showcasing the latest advancements and innovations in land, naval and air defence, bringing together experts and leading global companies in the defence and security sectors.
IDEX is held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The event is organised by Capital Events with the support of the UAE Ministry of Defence.
The exhibitions bring together government officials, military leaders, industry experts and key decision-makers to showcase emerging technologies, promote innovation and strengthen international cooperation in defence and security.
IDEX 2027 is also expected to provide opportunities for defence leaders, procurement stakeholders, original equipment manufacturers, prime contractors and international delegations to build strategic partnerships and explore business opportunities.
