A court on Tuesday sent Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala to jail after the end of his two-day remand in a case filed over the attempted murder of Abdul Zabbar during the July Mass Uprising in 2024.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order as police produced Agarwala before the court after the end of his remand and sought to keep him in jail until the completion of the investigation.

On October 25, the court placed Agarwala on a two-day remand in the case. Earlier, he was placed on a four-day remand on October 21.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Agarwala from the city's Banani area on October 19.

Abdul Zabbar was shot in front of Uttara BNS Centre on August 5, 2024. He was taken to hospital, where he received treatment until September 26, 2024.

Zabbar filed the case with Uttara West Police Station on March 27, 2025.
