Staff Correspondent

Garment workers from several factories blocked the Mirpur-10 roundabout in Dhaka on Thursday morning, demanding payment of unpaid wages and allowances, disrupting traffic in the area.

The workers took to the streets and blocked the intersection at around 10:00am, temporarily halting traffic movement.

Confirming the incident, Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Jalal Uddin told Daily Waadaa that workers from several garment factories had blocked the roundabout over unpaid wages and allowances.

However, he could not identify the factories involved in the protest.

In a Facebook post, the Mirpur Traffic Division said traffic movement at the Mirpur-10 roundabout had been temporarily disrupted due to the workers’ demonstration.
