Four people were arrested after crude bombs were exploded in the capital’s Dhanmondi-32, near the residence of Manjurul Bashid, a judge of International Crimes Tribunal-2, shortly before Friday prayers.

Speaking to Daily Waadaa, Sheikh Zahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of police for the Ramna Zone, said the judge was not the target of the incident.

“We were conducting an operation in Kalabagan. When police tried to arrest them, they fled. They threw some cocktails and one exploded to evade arrest,” he said.

The four were arrested with the help of local residents as they attempted to flee the scene, the police official said.

Asked whether a case had been filed over the incident, Sheikh Zahidul Islam said the process was underway.
