Summit LNG terminal maintenance may disrupt gas supply nationwide

Staff Correspondent

Regasification at the Summit LNG Terminal in Maheshkhali, Cox’s Bazar, will remain suspended from 8am on November 4 to 4pm on November 7 for emergency maintenance, potentially disrupting gas supplies across the country.

During the suspension, daily gas supply to the national grid will fall by 320 million cubic feet, from the current 920 million cubic feet to 600 million cubic feet, Petrobangla said in a statement.

“As a result, consumers across the country may experience low gas pressure during the maintenance period,” the statement added.

Petrobangla said similar maintenance work was carried out in December 2025.

The authorities expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience to consumers.
