The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has added Litton Das to the squad for the first Test against Australia in Darwin on Saturday following progress in his recovery from an injury.
Litton has been out injured since June owing to an injury to his left calf.
The wicketkeeper-batter was initially expected to recover in time for the second Test in Mackay, starting on August 22.
But the board has informed that he will be available for selection for the opening Test in Darwin, beginning on August 13.
“The 31-year-old batsman has been sidelined since June due to the injury, but has responded well to his rehabilitation programme and will be in consideration for selection for the opening Test,” the BCB media release read.
The 15-man squad has already left for the tour and Litton will now join them as the 16th member.
He will board the plane to Australia on Sunday, informed the BCB.
Before the two Tests, Bangladesh will also play a three-day practice match in Darwin against Cricket Australia XI, from August 6.
