Bangladesh pacer Khaled Ahmed struck five wickets for 42 runs to skittle Lancashire for 161 in a County Championship Division Two clash at Kent on Tuesday, marking his first five-wicket haul in county cricket.

Kent won the toss and chose to field, with Khaled given the new ball in the 12th over. He settled quickly, sending down three maiden overs and conceding only nine runs across his opening six-over spell without a breakthrough.

The pacer finally struck after lunch, removing opener Keaton Jennings, caught at point off a short ball, before trapping Rocky Flintoff, son of England great Andrew Flintoff, leg before with the very next over.

Khaled then endured a lengthy wait before returning to strike again, this time removing wicketkeeper-batter Matty Hurst for 37, who edged an outswinger through to second slip during the innings' 53rd over.

At the opposite end, Matt Milnes kept the pressure on, and by the 58th over Lancashire had slumped to 160 for eight, with Milnes on four wickets for 28 and Khaled holding three.

Khaled returned to bowl Mitchell Stanley with the fourth ball of his next over, before immediately dismissing James Anderson to complete his five-wicket haul, sealing the innings and leaving Lancashire bowled out for 161.

Opener Michael Jones was Lancashire's top scorer with 44, while Jennings made 30 and Hurst contributed 37 as Kent's seam attack ran through the visitors on a testing morning surface.

This was only Khaled's second County Championship appearance, having already impressed on his debut with three wickets against Worcestershire in the previous match.

His latest figures mark the tenth time he has taken five wickets in an innings in first-class cricket.

The 34-year-old's rise came after Bangladesh teammate Hasan Mahmud was recalled by the Bangladesh Cricket Board for national duty, leaving two county matches unplayed.

Khaled has since made the most of the extended opportunity at Kent.

Hasan had earlier taken his own five-wicket haul for the county, meaning both Bangladeshi pacers have now recorded fifers during their respective stints in England this season.
