A court here today placed Diamond World Managing Director Dilip Kumar Agarwala on a two-day fresh remand in a case filed over the attempted murder of one Abdul Zabbar during the July Mass Uprising in 2024.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Zakir Hossain passed the order as police produced Agarwala before the court after the end of his four-day remand in the case and pleaded to place him on a seven-day fresh remand.

On October 21, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarah Farzana Haque placed Dilip Kumar Agarwala on four-day remand in the case.

A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Agarwala from the city's Banani area on October 19.

Abdul Zabbar got shot in front of Uttara BNS Centre on August 5, 2024. He was rushed to hospital, where he went through treatment till September 26, 2024.

Zabbar on March 27, 2025, filed the case with Uttara West Police Station.
