The second instalment of the comedy series Bohemian Ghora will begin filming in December, with filmmakers Amitabh Reza Chowdhury and Mushfiqa Masud set to co-direct the seven-episode series.

Nearly a year and a half after the release of the first instalment, the series is returning with a new chapter of its story centred on the life of a truck driver.

The first instalment earned Mosharraf Karim praise for his portrayal of Abbas. The cast also included Robena Reza Jui, Runa Khan, Tanzika Amin, Mousumi Hamid, Sadia Ayman, Farhana Hamid, Asma Ul Husna and Sarah Zabin.

Amitabh Reza said on Sunday that the team is currently working to finalise the schedules of the cast members ahead of the December shoot.

Many of the artistes from the first instalment are expected to return, although the makers may replace several cast members. Amitabh Reza did not confirm details about the changes.

The new season will mark another creative collaboration between Amitabh Reza and Mushfiqa Masud, who have previously worked together on television commercials.

The filmmakers married last November and have continued working together since then. According to Amitabh Reza, their collaboration extends across the creative process, from developing screenplays to directing.

He said their different ways of thinking and experiences have become an advantage in their work.

“The biggest advantage is that two different ways of thinking and experiences come together in the same work,” Amitabh Reza said.

“I get new ideas and different perspectives from Mushfiqa, which enrich my films. On the other hand, my experience of working in Bangladesh’s film industry and my understanding of the realities here help Mushfiqa in her work. This mutual exchange is the main strength of our work together.”

The couple also plans to collaborate on feature films alongside their web series projects. They plan to jointly make two more films next year, with work on both projects scheduled to begin during the year.

Meanwhile, Mushfiqa Masud is developing her own film project, I Am She, which has been selected as one of three projects for the West Meets East Lab of the Dhaka International Film Festival.
