'The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny' won in the outstanding variety special (live) category, marking the Puerto Rican star’s first Emmy.

The show also won awards for music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction and camerawork, and directing.

Jay-Z, who served as an executive producer on the show, won his third Emmy.

The halftime performance was a major production featuring appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, alongside a real-life wedding and appearances by authentic business owners, including Los Angeles-based Villa’s Tacos.

The performance was designed to celebrate everyday people, Latino culture and the human experience.

Creative director Harriet Cuddeford previously told Variety that the performance was about “what it is to be human and love and have joy”, while highlighting Bad Bunny’s connection to his community.

“He’s a very authentic person, Benito, and it’s about just being authentic and very real and very human,” Cuddeford said.

The seven wins recognised both the performance itself and the extensive creative and technical work behind the Super Bowl halftime production.
