Actress Tanjin Tisha has raised concerns about her personal safety in Bangladesh, saying she does not feel safe in the country and calling for greater attention to women’s security.

Speaking to journalists at a recent event, Tisha said, “To be honest, I don’t feel safe in Bangladesh.”

The actress said there are security shortcomings in many parts of the country and that ordinary people often face situations they do not deserve. She also said many such incidents appear unfair and that people do not always receive justice.

Tisha particularly stressed the need to strengthen security for women, saying their safety should receive greater attention in all circumstances.

The actress also spoke about wearing gold jewellery. She said she had wondered why women should keep their gold jewellery in their bags while travelling when they could simply wear it instead. According to Tisha, more effective measures are needed to ensure women’s safety.

Tisha began her career in showbiz through ramp modelling. She gained recognition as a model after appearing in a Robi advertisement directed by Amitabh Reza Chowdhury.

She later drew attention after appearing in the music video for Chokheri Poloke, sung by Rizvi Wahid and Shubhomita, in 2012. She also appeared in Imran Mahmudul’s Bolte Bolte Cholte Cholte.

Tisha subsequently established herself as a television actor through a series of dramas. On January 4, 2020, she starred opposite Apurba in the web drama Bhalobasha Tui, released on CMV’s YouTube channel, playing the role of a sales representative.

Alongside television, Tisha has also worked in productions for OTT platforms. Her latest comments about her safety have drawn renewed attention to the issue.
