Actress Keya Payel is making her web film debut with Chorki Original Happily Married, directed by Jahid Preetom and co-starring Arifin Shuvoo, with the film set to premiere on Chorki on October 8.

Payel first sparked curiosity about the project on July 15, when she posted “Happily Married” on her verified Facebook page alongside a photograph with Shuvoo. The post led many to speculate that the actress had actually married, before it was revealed as the title of her first web film.

Produced by Chorki and co-produced by Chabial, Happily Married is part of the Ministry of Love project.

As the release approaches, the film has once again generated interest online. While audiences have expressed anticipation, some have jokingly asked when Payel herself plans to become “happily married”.

“I believe in fate. So, let’s see when it happens. It will happen when it is written in my fate, and everyone will know about it. But for some reason, I feel it will happen quite suddenly,” Payel said.

For now, the actress is focused on her professional commitments. Alongside television dramas, she has been working on endorsements and fashion runway appearances. She is also scheduled to travel abroad in early October and expects to return towards the end of the month.

Payel said she had received numerous film and web film offers over the years, particularly since web films began gaining popularity in Bangladesh. However, she had been waiting for a project that would allow audiences to see her beyond her regular television roles.

“I have received many offers for films and web films. In particular, I have been receiving web film offers since the format began gaining ground in Bangladesh. But I have always wanted to work on a character and story where people can see me differently,” she said.

“Since I regularly work in television dramas, I want audiences to see a special side of Payel whenever I work in a film or web film. I felt that Happily Married was a film where viewers would be able to see me in a different way,” she added.

Payel also praised the film’s team, describing the working environment as comfortable and cooperative.

“The Happily Married team was very active and cooperative. I really enjoyed working with them, and it was a very comfortable environment. Our director Jahid Preetom, in particular, is very humble. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for me,” she said.

Presented by Sensation, Happily Married pairs Payel with Arifin Shuvoo. Payel said the opportunity to work with the actor was another factor that attracted her to the project.

“Shuvoo bhai is very sincere, professional, quiet, and helpful. At first, I wondered whether I would be able to do it because he is senior to me and has so much experience. But while working with him, I never felt that pressure. I really enjoyed working with him,” she said.

With her first web film nearing release, Payel hopes audiences will discover a different side of her acting.

“I’m very excited about Happily Married. It is my first web film, and the story is wonderful. We have put a lot of care into the project. I want my fans to watch it and then tell me what they think. This time, I have brought something different for them. They will get to see a special side of Payel,” she said.
