Popular actors Mosharraf Karim and Faruque Ahmed are set to reunite in the new drama Chairman Er Husband, nearly five years after their last project together.

The duo have previously appeared together in several popular dramas, often portraying contrasting characters, with Mosharraf playing the clever and sometimes dishonest character while Faruque took on the role of his simple-minded and honest friend.

Their collaborations include Behind the Scene, Fad O Bogar Golpo, Moneybag and Mir Jafor Er Mrittu Chai. Several of their dramas continue to attract millions of views on social media, while clips from their work are frequently shared and go viral on Facebook.

Speaking about their reunion, Faruque Ahmed said the pair used to work together regularly and that audiences had often asked why they no longer appeared together.

“We often hear from viewers asking why we do not act together like before. We both want to work as well. I also miss the work we did together,” he said.

Faruque said suitable scripts and roles had become less common, contributing to the actors working together less frequently.

“Maybe directors do not want it like before. Also, simply acting together is not enough. We need a script where there is scope for a combination between Mosharraf and me,” he said.

He recalled working together on a story by Redoan Rony, in which he played a simple and foolish character while Mosharraf portrayed a clever man trying to become rich quickly.

“We were both able to perform strongly because we had good understanding. It can be compared to the combination of the three characters in Humayun Ahmed’s ‘Tara Tinjon’. If we get a story like that, we will definitely work together,” Faruque said.

In Chairman Er Husband, the actors play two brothers. Faruque portrays the elder brother, who becomes involved in a series of bizarre situations that frequently lead to arguments with his younger brother, played by Mosharraf Karim.

“Once again, the work has turned out well. I hope the audience will like it. I enjoyed working with Mosharraf again after such a long time,” Faruque said.

Director Sujit Biswas said the drama was recently filmed in Pubail, Gazipur. Neelanjona Neela, Saika Ahmed, Nure Alam Nayan and Siddiq Master also feature in the cast.
