Actor Omar Sani has expressed concern after gunmen fired at singer Asif Akbar’s car in Dhaka’s Moghbazar area early on Saturday, October 24, calling the incident a warning sign and wishing the singer a long life.

The shooting took place in front of Bishal Centre. Asif, a popular singer and former director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), was not inside the vehicle at the time and escaped unharmed.

Following the incident, Omar Sani shared a photograph of Asif alongside an image of the damaged car on Facebook, expressing concern for the singer’s safety.

“Firing at singer Asif Akbar’s car is a warning sign. This should not happen. Asif, I wish you a long life. May Allah keep you safe,” Omar Sani wrote.

The incident has raised concern among members of the entertainment industry and Asif’s fans. However, the identity of those responsible and their motive remain unknown.

Hatirjheel police station officer-in-charge Mohammad Asaduzzaman said police were taking the matter seriously. Investigators are working to establish the motive behind the shooting and identify those involved.

Police have not confirmed whether the incident was connected to any personal or professional dispute involving Asif.
