SRK recreates iconic pose as fans gather outside Mannat on 61st birthday

Waadaa Desk

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, also known as SRK, stepped out onto the balcony of his Mumbai residence, Mannat, on Monday evening to greet fans gathered outside to celebrate his 61st birthday, waving, blowing kisses and recreating his iconic arms-wide-open pose.

The actor also folded his hands in a gesture of gratitude as fans cheered and chanted his name. Some were heard shouting “I love you” as he acknowledged the crowd.

Dressed in a white T-shirt, washed-out grey denim jeans, a beanie and dark sunglasses, Khan appeared before fans who had travelled from different places to catch a glimpse of him.

His appearance came after he skipped his customary midnight balcony greeting this year. The actor usually steps out at midnight on his birthday to wave to fans and blow them kisses.

The celebrations at Mannat also featured a special makeover inspired by his upcoming film, King. Late on Sunday night, larger-than-life visuals and dialogues from the film were displayed on a giant screen outside the residence.

The screen also carried a handwritten message from Khan, which read: “Thank you all for your wishes and love. Sending mine right back to you all.”

Earlier, the actor had marked his birthday by releasing Tu Mil Jaaye, the first song from King, around midnight. The film also stars Deepika Padukone.
