Hundreds of Facebook posts shared a video late Monday claiming that an extremist attack had taken place in Savar, Dhaka.

The claim is false.

Waadaa Fact-Check investigated the video and found that it is more than a month old. The footage actually shows a fire at Khulna City Hospital on June 11, 2026.

A longer version of the video confirms that it depicts the June 11 fire incident.

The misleading posts also include a keyframe of Citizen Lab Hospital, which is located directly opposite Khulna City Hospital.

“We spoke with all our patrol teams, but found no information about such an incident,” he told Daily Waadaa.
