Bangladesh lose to Syria, out of U20 Asian Cup qualification race

Bangladesh conceded a 0-3 defeat to Syria in their crucial Group B match of the AFC Under-20 Asian Cup qualification on Thursday at the Do'stlik Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

With this defeat, Bangladesh crashed out of the qualification race.

Al Mouslee put Syria ahead in the 44th minute. Al Herek scared the remaining two goals in the 45th and 90th minutes to seal the victory for Syria

Bangladesh will play their final group match against India on September 6 at the same venue.

The eight group winners and seven best runners-up from the qualifying round will advance to the AFC U-20 Asian Cup finals.

Earlier, Bangladesh made a losing start to the tournament, suffering a 2-0 defeat to hosts Uzbekistan while Syria lost 1-0 to India in their opener.
