Pedri has dismissed suggestions that his playing style clashes with new arrival Rodri, following Barcelona's commanding 5-0 win over Valencia at Mestalla on Sunday, that maintained the club's perfect start to the La Liga season.
The two Spain internationals started together and dominated the midfield throughout, with Pedri also finding the net himself during a performance that offered a firm rebuttal to any doubts over their tactical compatibility.
"It has been said that we don't work together, but it's very comfortable playing with Rodri," Pedri told Movistar afterwards.
"He hardly ever loses the ball and that helps a lot in defence. We're going to have a good understanding that will get even better with more and more games," he added.
Head coach Hansi Flick was similarly effusive about his summer signing's impact, praising the influence Rodri has brought both on the pitch and within the wider squad.
"Everything Rodri has done makes sense. He is very good with the ball and without the ball. And I don't forget that Bernal is doing a great job. If it continues like this, it will be a great opportunity to improve more and more. Rodri is an absolute leader, what he does on the pitch and off is incredible," Flick said.
Rodri's arrival came after Barcelona's pursuit of Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez fell through, prompting sporting director Deco to pivot towards the experienced midfielder instead, a decision that already appears to be paying dividends given the Spaniard's calming presence alongside Barcelona's youthful core.
Questions had also lingered over Barcelona's ability to score goals consistently without a recognised centre forward, but those concerns were emphatically addressed at Mestalla, with Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Pedri all among the scorers in a relentless attacking display.

Pedri pointed to the depth of attacking options at Flick's disposal as the reason those fears were overblown from the outset.
"People always want a striker that scores 40 goals a season, but we have a lot of players that can do that work. We have a lot of players who will get in those positions to score goals, we have Raphinha, Lamine, Anthony Gordon, Gabriel Jesus, Karim Adeyemi. We won't lack goals this season," he said.
The win took Barcelona's tally to an impressive 17 goals from just four league matches, leaving them three points clear at the top of the table with a perfect record so far this season.
