First ladies of Bangladesh, Malaysia share lakeside moment in Putrajaya

Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique, toured the Putrajaya Lake on a cruise on Monday alongside Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri's wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territory) Hannah Yeoh, who was also present, welcomed Zubaida at 9:30am, according to media reports.

Dr Zubaida spent an hour bonding with Dr Wan Azizah and Hannah while enjoying the views of the country's administrative centre.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Zubaida left Malaysia this afternoon for Dalian, China, wrapping up the two-day visit.

A special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the premier and his wife, alongside members of the delegation departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport at about 5pm local time.

This was the prime minister’s first overseas visit after assuming office following the February 12 national elections.

During his visit, he held talks with his Malaysia counterpart Anwar Ibrahim, centering on bilateral interests.

He is expected to return home on June 26.
