Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, along with the prime ministers of several other countries, attended a state banquet hosted by Chinese counterpart Li Qiang.

The banquet was held tonight in Dalian in honour of heads of state and government who had arrived to attend the World Economic Forum's conference here.

During the visit, Tarique Rahman was accompanied by his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman.

The heads of government attended the banquet included South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, Mongolian Prime Minister Nyam-Osoryn Uchral, Guinean Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, among others.

Prime Minister's Office (PMO) spokesperson Mahdi Amin said Tarique Rahman met with the prime ministers at the state banquet and they dined together.

This has opened ways for informal and open discussions, he said.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman arrived in Dalian, China, on Monday night after concluding a two-day visit to Malaysia.

He was accorded a red-carpet reception at Dalian international airport.

After attending the World Economic Forum on Wednesday morning, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing by bullet train in the afternoon.
