Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum as the chief guest at 9am on August 5 by unveiling its commemorative plaque. 

The museum has been established to preserve the legacy of the July Mass Uprising, which the government describes as a landmark in Bangladesh's anti-fascist democratic struggle, to present its history to future generations, and to commemorate the sacrifices of those who were martyred and those who took part in the movement.

Following the inauguration, Tarique will tour the museum's galleries and exhibitions, where he will view preserved artefacts, photographs, documents and memorabilia highlighting the history of the July Mass Uprising.

July movement participants and family members of those killed during the uprising will speak at the inauguration, sharing their experiences and paying tribute to the sacrifices made during the movement.

A documentary depicting the events of the July Mass Uprising, public participation and the movement's victory will also be screened.

The cultural segment of the programme will feature performances by prominent artistes, including patriotic songs, recitations and other presentations reflecting the spirit of the July Mass Uprising, patriotism and democratic values.

Liberation War Affairs Minister Ahmed Azam Khan, MP, Cultural Affairs State Minister Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam, MP, and the Prime Minister's Adviser on Policy and Strategy, Information and Broadcasting, and Cultural Affairs, Dr Zahed Ur Rahman, PM’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser will attend the event as special guests.

The programme will be chaired by Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury, MP.

The Director General of the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum will conclude the programme by thanking the guests, July movement participants, family members of those killed, invited guests, journalists and all others associated with the event.

Senior government officials, representatives of various ministries and divisions, diplomats, intellectuals, academics, cultural personalities, July movement participants, family members of those killed, political leaders, journalists and distinguished members of different professions are expected to attend the inauguration.
