The National Citizen Party (NCP) has appointed lawmaker Mahmuda Alam Mitu as convener and lawmaker Nusrat Tabassum as member secretary of its women’s wing, Jatiya Nari Shakti, as it dissolved the organisation’s existing committee and announced a new partial convening committee.

According to a party press release issued on Saturday, Monjila Jhuma has been named chief organiser of the new committee.

The decision was approved on the instructions of NCP convener Nahid Islam and member secretary Akhter Hossain, the press release said.

The party has directed the newly appointed committee to form a full-fledged committee within 15 days.

The NCP announced a 53-member central convening committee of Jatiya Nari Shakti on April 18, naming Monira Sharmin as convener, Mahmuda Alam Mitu as member secretary and Nusrat Tabassum as chief organiser.
