Bangladesh women's hockey team suffered an 8-0 defeat to South Korea in their Pool A match of the Asian Games 2026 at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Japan today.

Making their maiden appearance in the Asian Games, Bangladesh struggled to cope with South Korea's attacking pressure from the outset as the Koreans repeatedly tested their defence and scored eight goals.

Bangladesh had earlier suffered a 13-0 defeat to China before putting up a stronger fight against Malaysia, eventually losing 3-1.

After three matches, Bangladesh have scored just one goal while conceding 24, leaving them with a 1-24 goal difference.

Bangladesh will play their remaining two Pool A matches against Kazakhstan and Chinese Taipei.
