Rubio meets Khalil on sidelines of ASEAN Forum in Manila

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday met Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Manila.

The meeting was also attended by Bangladesh's Foreign Affairs Adviser to the Prime Minister, Humaiun Kobir, and US Ambassador to India and President's Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor.

During the talks, both sides discussed enhancing cooperation and deepening US-Bangladesh bilateral ties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

Secretary Rubio congratulated Khalil on his election as President of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Foreign Minister Rahman also invited Secretary Rubio to visit Bangladesh.
