Acting President begins official duties at Bangabhaban

Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Tuesday received his first ceremonial salute and attended his first official engagements at Bangabhaban after assuming office.

The Acting President arrived at Bangabhaban at around 11:15am, where he was received at Gate No. 2 by a horse-mounted contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR), which escorted him to the venue for the Guard of Honour.

A smartly turned-out PGR contingent presented him with a Guard of Honour, while a combined military band of the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force played the welcome tune.

Following the ceremony, President's Military Secretary Major General ASM Bahauddin, Public Division Secretary Khan Md Nurul Amin, Press Secretary Md Sarwar Alam and Assistant Military Secretary Brigadier General Mohammad Raisul Islam welcomed the Acting President with bouquets at the Octagonal of Bangabhaban.

He then proceeded to his office, where he exchanged greetings with senior officials. The President's Military Secretary and the Public Division Secretary subsequently briefed him on Bangabhaban's affairs.
