US congratulates Mirza Fakhrul on becoming President

The US Embassy in Dhaka on Saturday congratulated Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on his election as the 23rd President of Bangladesh.

It said the US looks forward to working with President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and the government of Bangladesh to further strengthen the bilateral partnership.

Mirza Fakhrul was elected President of Bangladesh on August 20. He took the oath of office on Friday.
