‘He’s trying, but gets stuck somewhere in Delhi’, Humaiun Kobir on Dinesh Trivedi

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on Saturday said there is no possibility of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman visiting India before the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The Prime Minister will go to India when the time is right, through mutual respect and mutual engagement, he said during an exchange of views with leaders of the Electronic Media Journalists Association (EMJA) in Sylhet.

Humaiun said Bangladesh’s doors for dialogue with India would always remain open despite the hundreds of bilateral issues between the two countries.

He also praised Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Dinesh Trivedi for his efforts to mend bilateral relations.

“I met him twice. He’s endeavouring, not bad. He’s trying. But he gets stuck somewhere in Delhi,” Humaiun said.

The remarks came amid ongoing efforts to improve Bangladesh-India relations and address outstanding bilateral issues.
