Moving bus set on fire in Mirpur, cocktail explodes at Kamalapur Railway Station
A moving bus was set on fire by miscreants near the Mirpur-11 bus stand in the capital on Saturday evening, while a cocktail exploded at Kamalapur Railway Station later at night.
The bus was set on fire at around 7:13pm, said Rafi Al Faruk, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room.
On information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at around 7:28pm, he said.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
Later, at around 10:45pm, a cocktail exploded in an isolated area of Platform No. 2 at Kamalapur Railway Station, said Nikulin Chakma, superintendent of police of the Dhaka railway district.
“We are trying to identify who carried out the incident,” he said.
Railway police have intensified patrols on the platforms and are taking measures to prevent such incidents in the future, the official added.
