Family members of July Mass Uprising martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho on Sunday paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at Bangabhaban.

Mugdho’s father Mir Mostafizur Rahman, brother Mir Mahbubur Rahman Snigdha and family member Mahfuza Jafrin Ariba were present during the meeting.

The President exchanged pleasantries with them and inquired about their well-being.

During the meeting, the family members briefed the President on various government measures taken for the welfare and rehabilitation of the families of those killed and injured in the July Mass Uprising, as well as for providing medical treatment to the injured.

They requested that the government’s initiatives for the welfare of the families of the martyrs and the injured be implemented properly.

Mugdho’s family also presented the President with a replica of the July Martyrs Memorial, bearing the names of 845 July martyrs published in the official gazette.

Paying deep respect and gratitude to those killed and injured in the July 2024 Mass Uprising, President Fakhrul said the nation would never forget the sacrifices of those who sacrificed their lives or suffered injuries in the movement to free the country from fascism.

He assured the family members that the government would continue to provide the highest possible support for the overall welfare of the martyr families and ensure proper treatment and rehabilitation of those injured.

The President also prayed for the eternal peace and salvation of the souls of the July martyrs.

Senior officials concerned of Bangabhaban were present during the meeting.
