UNGA sidelines: PM meets Bhutanese counterpart, Maldives VP

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Vice President of Maldives Hussain Mohamed Latheef in separate meetings on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday. 

The first two meetings focused on further strengthening the existing friendly and cordial relations between Bangladesh and the respective countries, as well as discussing matters of mutual interest and various aspects of regional and international cooperation, a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office said.

Potential avenues to further expand existing areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of the nations and the welfare of their people were also discussed.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is currently in New York to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
