Yunus meets Bill, Hillary Clinton in New York

Professor Muhammad Yunus met former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) 2026 Annual Meeting in New York on the sideline of UNGA.

Yunus also addressed the annual meeting, joining global leaders and changemakers in discussions on responsible artificial intelligence, climate resilience, democracy, humanitarian action, health equity, information integrity and women’s equality.

The CGI 2026 Annual Meeting is being held in New York on September 22-23.

During his ongoing visit to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, Yunus has also held a series of meetings with international figures.

He met Rachel Ruto, First Lady of Kenya, as well as former British Prime Minister and UN Special Envoy Gordon Brown.

Yunus also met Wellington Dias, Brazil’s Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger.

His engagements come alongside a series of sideline events and meetings involving world leaders, policymakers and international figures during the UNGA week in New York.

The Clinton Global Initiative brings together leaders from government, business, philanthropy and civil society to discuss responses to major global challenges and develop initiatives aimed at addressing them.
