Yunus delivers keynote at New York investment forum on Bangladesh

Former Chief Adviser to the interim government and Nobel laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday delivered the chief guest and keynote address at an investment forum in New York focusing on Bangladesh’s prospects as a frontier market.

The forum, titled “Invest Bangladesh: The Rising Frontier Market,” was hosted by mCapital at the New York Marriott Marquis, bringing together investors, entrepreneurs, founders and policymakers to discuss investment opportunities in Bangladesh.

The day-long event featured an emerging-market panel, a keynote address by Investment Bangladesh Authority Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury on the country’s transition from a frontier to an emerging market, and a technology panel with Bangladeshi founders and chief executive officers.

The programme concluded with a session involving the Global Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce.

Yunus’s participation came during his visit to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
