PM Tarique, UAE deputy PM discuss trade, investment and manpower cooperation

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman met United Arab Emirates Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in New York on Friday, with trade, investment and manpower cooperation high on the agenda.

The two leaders discussed ways to deepen Bangladesh-UAE relations, including expanding bilateral cooperation, trade and investment and the broader economic partnership, according to a government statement.

Manpower cooperation was also discussed, alongside regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Tarique stressed the need to broaden the existing relationship between Bangladesh and the UAE and make bilateral cooperation more effective.

Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the coming years.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of Tarique's visit to New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
