‘You didn’t let me be good’: Salman’s cryptic post, lion cover photo stir speculation

“You didn’t let me be good.”

With those six words, Salman Muqtadir has returned to Facebook days after an attack left his BrownFish Studio vandalised and looted — and set social media speculating about what he intends to do next.

The actor and content creator posted the cryptic message on Tuesday, writing in Bangla: “তোরা আমাকে ভালো হতে দিলি না।”

The post quickly gained traction, receiving more than 100,000 reactions and around 10,000 comments.

Salman also changed his Facebook cover photo to an image of a lion lying on a tree branch, its eyes closed.

The combination of the terse post and the new cover photo prompted followers to speculate over whether Salman was signalling a change in tone following the attack.

Salman himself, however, offered no explanation of either the post or the image. There is no indication of what message, if any, he intended the lion photograph to convey.

The comments nevertheless filled quickly with interpretations, encouragement and jokes.

“There's no value in being good, brother. You’re better off staying bad,” one user wrote.

“Then show them what you’ve got,” another commented.

The posts come after an attack at the New Guinea Properties housing project in South Manikdi near ECB Chattar in Dhaka, where Salman’s BrownFish Studio is located.

The studio suffered extensive vandalism and looting during the incident.

Salman subsequently went on Facebook Live, questioned the response of Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed and referred to the ruling BNP while discussing the attack.

Police have said their preliminary findings indicate the violence stemmed from a longstanding land dispute involving the premises rather than an extortion demand specifically targeting Salman.

Salman’s latest post does not directly mention the attack, the government, BNP or police.

But coming days after the destruction at his studio — and accompanied by the new image of the resting lion — the deliberately sparse message has been enough to trigger a fresh round of speculation online.

For now, Salman has left the interpretation to his followers.
